Amsonia is a Blue Beauty

Amsonia

These photos are of plants that grow in my yard.  They provide inspiration for my paintings. I have been wanting to try a painting of this plant when it is flowering.  It flowers in the spring and in the fall, the flowers produce long narrow pods that broadcast little seed pellets.  The flowers are so delicate, it requires a plein aire painting, I think, and each spring slips by before I can set up an easel beside a clump full of blooms.
