Butterfly Weed

Butterfly Weed close

These photos of flowers are inspiration to me but they are not art.  I am not a photographer.  The butterfly weed is special to me because, my father, a botanist, collected them.  He liked to find the most vigorous and the deepest oranges. This particular plant is special because it was given to me by a close friend, Lisa Leibering, who was a design collaborator at The Children’s Theatre of Charlotte. She left Charlotte to relocate to the University of Wisconsin to earn a PhD in Children’s Theatre. I miss her two lively and adorable children Wilson and Annabell, and her husband, Eric and Lisa, who was always a sympathetic ear.  Everyone needs a friend like that and no one has ever come along to take he place.
