Matron Saint

Matron Saint 3

Matron Saint

Oil on Canvas

 27×43 inches

This painting is old but represents my love of nature and my core need to see it preserved and protected.  I think that there is a little madonna in each of us that yearns to do her job and nurture. This image represents my inner madonna. My husband, ever the one to be clever, named it Matron Saint.

  1. do you have a date for this painting? always an old favorite…

  2. This is so beautiful — majestic and a bit eerie at the same time. I love the ethereal wispiness of it, and yet it feels grounded — almost as if she emerged from a tree trunk. This would be a perfect piece for a children’s book illustration.

  3. Thanks so much. I love it too and will never sell it. It is not that I think I couldn’t paint it again but it was a major step for me and I would want to keep it to show that step. As the years have gone by I sometimes do a little touch up to it so it. Too bad I can’t do that to myself.
